Mk IV was again completely rebuilt, this time with:
- 443rpm motors from fastcomponents:
9.3g instead of 8.2g
- Lighter armour (1mm polycarbonate, instead of 4mm) on
the sides
- Which allows for a "wedge" weapon front and
back - these are sharpened titanium.
- M2 grub screws and new steel collars fitting the wheels
to the motor shafts. The grub screws are tightened with
0.7mm allen keys, which can be tightened much more firmly
than a phillips head machine screw can. Hopefully no more
wheels falling off.
- Designed on CAD, allowing for more accurate cuts, and
I even managed to totally rebuild the robot within one night
when I realised I had made a mistake, because of the increased
speed that simply printing the design out and cutting it
gave me.
This version of Dymamite is so powerful that I'm rapidly
losing the tread from the lego wheels, and my arena is getting
covered in powdered rubber. I just hope I can handle driving
it!
Although Dynamite MkIII ran at 246rpm compared to MkII's
370rpm, it won AWS19, so I hope I'm not overegging the pudding
by nearly doubling the speed.
