In cardboard mockup number two I had protected the inner workings of the robot from attack when the flipper was up by curling the edges of the cardboard up.

I planned to build Electra from some sort of strong plastic (I eventually settled on polycarbonate) and hoped that I would be able to fold it in the same way!

The decoration was from my four year old son, Nathan. As an avid fan, he is the reason I took up robot building, and he's also the reason I decided on the safest form of robot - A flipper. I wanted him to keep his fingers.

The whees are too far forward, and I still need to sort that hinge out.
